FACULTY OF MINING AND CIVIL ENGENEERING AND GEOLOGY


The Faculty of Mining and Civil Engineering and Geology has began its tradition in research activities in 1958, and has since carried out a variety of activities ranging from basic to applied research.

The Faculty now comprises five departments:

  • Mining Engineering
  • Geology
  • Civil Engineering
  • Safety and Aid
  • Rig exploitation of raw minerals

The teaching staff expertise lies in the following research areas:

  • Mining exploitation of raw minerals
  • Rig exploitation of raw minerals
  • Raw mineral and material preparation
  • Geomechanics and geotechnics
  • Geoenergetics/Geothermal Mechanics/Landscape Ecology
  • Safety and Aid
  • Geology
  • Mineralogy and Petrology
  • Geological Engineering Disciplines
  • Hydrogeology and Hydrotechnics
  • Civil Engineering
  • Urban planning, Engineering Graphics and Numerical Modeling


Research activities are carried out through implementation of projects supported by:

  • Doctoral dissertations and masters’ theses research carried out as part of doctoral and masters’ studies
  • Research and development projects supported by various organizations and funds and grants such as Tuzla Canton Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Federal Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, B-H Ministry of Civil Affairs, Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry
  • Research and development projects supported by the EU and USA funds for science, European (German, Italian) and American governments, WUS, AD Austria, NATO Program.

Results of research activities are published in relevant indexed journals, Faculty of Mining and Civil Engineering and Geology Journal, and other publications from relevant congresses, symposiums and conferences held in Bosnia and abroad.
