CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: Finland's Millennium Technology Prize
2010
Dear Sir/Madam,
The nomination period for the 2010 Millennium Technology
Prize has now started. You are receiving this letter because we
believe that candidates for the Millennium Technology Prize, the
world’s largest technology award, may be working for you or be associated
with your organisation.
The Millennium Technology Prize is a biannual award
of one million euros given to a groundbreaking innovation that promotes
people’s quality of life, contributes toward the realization of
humane values and encourages sustainable development. Candidates
for the 2010 Millennium Technology Prize are sought across the world
and in all fields of technology. Nominations are welcomed from universities,
academies, research institutes and industrial organisations. Citizens
of all nations are eligible. The Millennium Technology Prize is
awarded by the Technology Academy Foundation, an independent fund
established together by the Finnish industry and the state of Finland.
The nominations should be sent to the Technology
Academy Foundation preferably by email by 1st of October 2009.
We hope you will kindly distribute the enclosed
information concerning the Millennium Technology Prize in your organisation
to appropriate persons.
Enclosed you will find the Nomination Guide with
a short description of the instructions for the nomination of candidates.
