Dear Coordinators

Greetings to all!  I hope this message finds you well and enjoying your autumn.  With the fall comes the time to start recruiting outstanding applicants for the Undergraduate Exchange Program 2007-08.  The 2007 UEP Application is now ready – both in paper and in electronic form.

Attached to this email is the 2007 paper application in PDF format.  As you will see, the 2007 application is quite similar to last year’s application.  We have included some of your suggestions to improve this year’s application – thank you for your input.  Please let me know if the form does not transfer clearly or if you would like a copy of it in Microsoft word.

As in previous years, please encourage students to apply via the OSI Online Application System (OAS).  The OAS website is https://oas.soros.org/oas/.  Online applications have the same format as paper applications and are given equal review and consideration.  From an administrative point of view, online applications are easier to process and do not require you to perform additional OAS entry.  (We are working on a way for you to view the OAS applications, as well.)  In a later email, Monisha Chowdhary, our new UEP grants officer, and we will provide more information about the OAS system.  When advertising the UEP in your countries, please promote the OAS website.

You are welcome to start advertising the program immediately.  More information about the program and the application can be found on the UEP website:  http://www.soros.org/initiatives/scholarship/focus_areas/undergraduate_exchange/guidelines.  I will shortly be sending around a program announcement, as well.  Please feel free to use your traditional methods of advertising, as well as asking UEP alumni to talk with eligible candidates or make presentations.  Other creative and inexpensive ways of advertising can be listed in last year’s version of the UEP Handbook.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!

Hope all is well,

Anne
