SCHOLARSHIPS FOR MASTER OF STUDIES DEGREE

IN INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS LAW

2005/6 ADMISSION

 

The Open Society Institute, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the University of Oxford invite applications for the above scholarships at the University of Oxford.

 

The course of study is taught over a period two years and consists of two six-week residential sessions in Oxford and three periods of distance-taught instruction using the internet and email.

 

Applicants should have completed a law degree to a high standard (in limited cases, applications from persons with other degrees who have extensive human rights-related experience will be considered), should have a high standard of English, access to email and internet facilities and will normally be expected to be both nationals of and resident in either Bosnia Herzegovina or Serbia.

 

Each scholarship covers two years of course and college fees at the University of Oxford, a stipend to cover living costs (during the residential periods only), and return air travel from the scholar’s home country for each residential session. On completion of the scholarship, scholars are expected to return to their home country to resume their studies or work there.

 

Completed applications should be returned to the appropriate office by Friday 4 March 2005.
