ABSTRACT: The Trust, established at the wish of the first Viscount
Leverhulme, makes awards for the support of research and education. The
research project grants are principally for the salary costs of a researcher or
researchers, to work on a specific and discrete research project proposed by
the applicant. The principal purpose of the application is to pursue a research
project rather than to fund a particular individual or a particular post or
posts. Grants are made to institutions under the name of an individual (the
Principal Investigator), rather than directly to that individual. Interested
researchers are asked in the first instance to complete an Outline Application
Form (downloadable on the website) and submit this to the Trust. For an Outline
Application which successfully passes initial review, the applicant will be
invited to prepare a Full Application.
