Please find below information on the 6th International
Workshop for Young Scholars (WISH) and its call for papers. The
Sixth WISH is intended to explore the evolution of the Court of
Justice.
Contributions are invited on relevant topics
(including but not limited to the following):
- the European Court of Justice in the 21st
century
- the role and influence of the Court of
First Instance in the EU legal order
- the supranational judiciary in an enlarged
EU
- the courts as political actors
- a supreme court for Europe
- the development of specialist chambers
- the nature of judicial interpretation
in the European Courts
- the influence of procedures in shaping
the deliberations of the court
- language and legal interpretation
- law in court – soft law and governance
before the courts
- national courts and the European courts
- the nature of law in a supra-national
legal order
- the European courts as a model for the
rule of law in regional integration
Proposals may be submitted in either English
or French.
Proposals should be submitted by 31st
May 2007 at the latest.
